Overview

Skill Set 2 includes the delivery of 3 units of study including: 

  • CPPBDN4106 Investigate materials for construction of Class 1 and Class 10 buildings

 

  • CPCSUS4002 Use building science principles to construct energy efficient buildings 

  • CPCSUS5003 Manage energy efficient building methods and strategies  

Explore the world of sustainable construction in Sustainable construction: methods and materials. This skill set is designed to help you understand and implement sustainability practices during the construction process, covering essential topics like material selection, building science, and energy-efficient building methods. 

  

Gain practical insights that extend beyond traditional construction approaches. Sustainable construction: methods and materials not only provides hands-on knowledge of sustainable building techniques but also touches on broader areas such as environmental impact, technology, and the effect of construction defects on building performance. By undertaking this skill set, you'll develop the skills needed to thrive in various roles within this crucial and forward-thinking industry.

Assessment Information

Timeline

Skill set 2 starts on Tuesday July 23 and will run for 8 weeks. 

Weeks 1, 3, 5 & 7: Face-to-face workshops and site visits on Saturdays on the city campus, + some online, self-paced learning and assessment.  

Weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8: 3-hour evening online class each Tuesday + some online, self-paced learning and assessment.
